9mobile, a telecommunication multinational company, on Monday said it would provide toll-free emergency lines to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to assist who may be in distressed situation.
The communication company stated that the provision of the lines to the NYSC and security agencies was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The Executive Director of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs of 9mobile, Abdulrahman Ado, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the NYSC Director-General, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, in Abuja.
According to a release by the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi, the 9mobile Director also presented a proposal on employment generation for corps members, which involves E-Learning Digital Skills Centre at the thirty-seven NYSC Orientation Camps.
“One of the telecom companies in Nigeria, 9mobile, is to provide toll-free emergency lines for the NYSC as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The company’s director, Ado, said the emergency lines would enable corps members reach dedicated help lines of the NYSC and security agencies when in distresses situation,” Adeyemi stated.
“He also presented a proposal for partnership on employment generation for corps members, which involves the implementation of E-Learning Digital Skills Centre.
“The NYSC DG, Ibrahim, said the empowerment of corps members through entrepreneurial training was one of the focal points of his policy thrust, adding that the scheme would welcome offer of assistance from credible stakeholders,” she added.
