Adams International College in Oshodi, Lagos state, has recorded a major feat as seventy-eight of the school’s candidates scored above 300 in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The proprietor of the college, Adams Adebola, at an Award event organised by the school to celebrate UTME top scorers, described the feat as a national record, considering the fact that no tutorial centre can boast of that record from a total od 6,700 students who scored above 300.
Adebola stated that the College was founded to give young youths direction in life and mentor them to achieve their dreams and aspirations.
He said when other schools and students engage in malpractice, the College gives its students a solid foundation, so that when they leave they make use of what they have gained to become a better person.
“I mentor them and most of the parents present at this award ceremony were the students I taught years ago. They are parents of students who have scored above 300 in UTME. If they were not well taught, mentored and directed, it would affect them,” Adebola stated.
One of the awardees, Tolulope Ishola, who scored 339, attributed her success to God and hard work. “I am going for this course because of my passion to help people and to make remarkable impact on people.”
Oluwatamilore Dipo-Ojo, who scored 337 marks, described the teaching method of the school as fantastic, adding that the teachers’ relationship with the candidates stands the school out compared to other tutorial classes.
