Bauchi Govt Seeks USD3bn From UBEC To Tackle Out-of-School Hazard

The Bauchi State Government is set to receive a support of USD3 billion Grant, under the Better Education Service Delivery for All Project which is an initiative of the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEC).

Prof. Gidado Tahir, team leader of the UBEC project, made the disclosure when he led members of the project on a courtesy visit to the Governor of the state, Bala Mohammed, at the Council Chamber, Government House in Bauchi state.

Tahir explained that the project was an initiative of the UBEC to support selected states to address the manace of out-of-school children.

He said members of the team were in the state to intimate the governor on their activities and appealed to him to key into the project for him to reach out to the beneficiaries.

The state governor, while pledging to comply with the project’s requirements, noted that the grant would assist his administration to find a lasting solution to the menace of out-of-school children in Bauchi.

Mohammed directed the Secretary to the State Government and the Permanent Secretary, State Universal Basic Education Board to work with members of the project for the success of the project in the state.
