EKSG Appoints Emir of Kano As State University Chancellor

The Ekiti State Government has appointed the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, as the Chancellor of the Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti.

Mr. Bode Olofinmuagun, Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs of the institution on Monday, disclosed the development in Ado-Ekiti, but did not give much details.

The Emir replaces the Alara of Aramoka Ekiti, Oba Adegoke Olu Adeyemi who was the Chancellor of the institution when former Governor Ayo Fayose was in power.

Report made available to Campusbiz shows that before the appointment of Sanusi, the university management had paid homage to the Emir ih his palace in Kano.


It was also revealed that the Emir had since accepted the offer, through a letter addressed to the government by the Matawallen Kano, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed.

The letter thanked the Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi and the government for the honour, promising to use his influence and wealth of experience to advance the course of the university.
