Tears and tributes poured in as the remains of Late Prof. Gideon Okedayo of the Department of Mathematics of the Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH), were buried at his resisdence in Idepe, Okitipupa LGA of the state on Saturday.
The late lecturer, who was a Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), was killed in cold blood by unknown men after he was kidnapped in Edo State on the 5th of September.
According to findings made available to schoolworld, his funeral service was attended by family members, friends, OSUSTECH workers and church members.
The Paster in charge of Ondo Province 5 of RCCG, Johnson Umoren, in his sermon, described late Okedayo as a committed man of God. He also urged the government to improve security in the country.
“We should not mourn like those without hope. We are very sure he is resting with the Lord. You must summon courage to forge ahead and continue where he has stopped. This I know will gladden his heart,” the Pastor stated.
The wife of the deceased, Marrietta Okedayo, stated that her husband spoke the truth at all times and acted fearlessly, describing him as a man of great finesse and a lover of people.
