First Prom Concert For High School Students Holds In Lagos

Nigerian music artists such as Banky W, Teni Makanika, Rema and others have been billed to thrill graduating secondary school students at a prom concert tagged, “Afroprom” which is to be held on the 14th of July at the Eko Hotel, Lagos.

Prom concert, which is commonly held in the United States of America, is a formal social event that takes place at the end of the last two years of high school.

The lead project manager at J.Vanni Global, organisers of the event, while speaking about the concert in Lagos, said the event is designed for high school graduates between the ages of fourteen and eighteen.

The project manager noted that the concert is designed to give Nigerian students an opportunity to experience the prom while celebrating, networking, and partying with a host of Nigeria’s top-rated celebrities.


“We aim to bring these teens together to celebrate a remarkable achievement at a crucial stage of their lives. Prom is not new to them; they see it happen everywhere else but not in Nigeria.

“This spurred us to create an avenue that will welcome them into adulthood. These high school graduares, who have been living vicariously yhrough their American counterparts for years through social media, have the privilege of enjoying Prom,” he stated.


According to the project manager, the event will feature cameo performances by social media celebrities to complement the comic relief that will be offered by the presence of ace comedians.

They students are expected to be treated to dance performances, paegent contest, raffle draws and lots more. The event will reward attendants with enticing gifts such as iPhone XR, PlayStation 4, and lots more.
