FUT Minna Selected By World Bank To Establish ACE For Mycotoxin, Food Safety

The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) has been selected as the only specialised university among other universities in Nigeria to establish African Centre of Excellence (ACE) for Mycotoxin and Food Safety.

Prof. Abdullahi Bala, Vice Chancellor of the institution, disclosed this at the ianuguration meeting of the ACE for Mycotoxin and Food Safety at the university’s main campus in Minna.

The VC made it known that out of the sixteen universities chosen in Nigeria, FUT Minna is the only specialised university and the only one to specialise on Mycotoxin and Food Safety.

He assured that the institution will not let the confidence bestowed on it be betrayed, as they will mobilize available human and materia resources of the university to achieve the laid down goals.

 

The Special guest of honour at the meeting was the wife of the Niger State Governor, Dr. Amina Abubakar Sani Bello who underscored the importance of food safety.

She commended the feat of FUT Minna to be chosen by World Bank as one of the universities to establish African Centre of Excellence, with special attention on Mycotoxin and Food Safety.
