About eight suspected armed robbers, according to reports, have been arrested by the Niger State Police Command.
Findings made available to schoolworld, revealed that the suspects are all undergraduate students of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) University in Lapai LGA of the state.
It was made known that one Hauwa Ibrahim and five other students of the university reported to the police that some hoodlums attacked and inficted injuries on them and also dispossed them of their valuables and money.
Following a tip-off, the hoodlums were trailed and apprehended by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Niger Command.
The Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Abubakar, confirmed the arrest of the students to newsmen on Wednesday, explaining that they were nabbed by the police while trying to escape.
