IMSU Alumni Association Urges Govt, Stakeholders To Intensify Efforts Against Suicide, Drug Abuse Among Students

The Imo State University (IMSU) Alumni Association has urged the government and education stakeholders to intensify concrete efforts to tackle the increasing rate of suicide, drug abuse and related social vices among university students across the country.

Mr. Ferdinald Akano, President of the association and Mr. Chris Anyanwu, past President of the association, while speaking during a sensitisation campaign cum rally as parts of the events to mark the association’s third year global convention, noted that efforts must be made to give the right information and orientation to students and youths about life and morality.

The association also urged the institutions to strenghten their code of conduct and take stringent actions against students that indulge in social vices.
