MAAUN Names Kano Governor’s Wife As Associate Professor

The Governing Council of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has named the wife of the Kano State Governor, Dr. Hafsat Ganduje, as Associate Professor.

According to reports, Gov. Ganduje’s wife is currently a lecturer at the Department of Education, Bayero University, Kano State.

This is contained in a statement signed by the President and Founder of the university, Prof. Adamu Abubakar-Gwarzo and which was made available to newsmen

According to the founder of the institution, a powerful delegation from the university, led by Prof. Muhammad Magaji-Rano, presented the letter to Dr. Hafsat Ganduje at the State House in Kano.

He made it known that other members of the delegation were Prof. Ibrahim Maigari and Dr. Bala Muhammad-Tukur, Directors at the university.

Speaking shortly after the presentation of the letter, Tukur stated that the decision to name the Kano Governor’s wife for the new rank was based on her record of teaching, research service and comprehensive review of her scholarly work.

“Your elevation to such a higher rank is based on your record of teaching, research service and comprehensive review of your scholarly work as well as your commitment to the promotion of education,” Tukur stated.

Responding, Dr. Ganduje thanked the President and Founder of the university for establishing the institution as well as his commitment to the development of his area and called other people with the wherewithal to emulate him.
