Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, Caretaker Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State, has reacted to the criticism about his invitation to an event at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
The NURTW Chairman, who went on a trip to Abuja which made him not to attend the student programme, stated that the organisers of the event knew why they invited him.
According to reports, UNILAG had been attacked on the social media for inviting the transport union leader to the university campus.
Findings by schoolworld revealed that the event was organised by the National Association of Geography Students, UNILAG Chapter.
Other top officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation were also invited for the students programme.
Jimoh Buhari, MC Oluomo’s aide, made it known that his boss could not attend the event because he travelled to Abuja for an emergency meeting.
“People are judging MC Oluomo based on hearsay. You don’t judge a book by its cover. We are also making efforts to change the negative impression people have about him,” Buhari stated.
