Muslim Students of ABU Show Love To Prison Inmates, Orphans

The Muslim Forum of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria has shown love by donating food stuffs and clothing materials worth over two million naira to inmates of Zaria prison and orphans in the Local Government Area.


Prof. Muhammad Bello Usman Kawu, Ameer of the Muslim Forum, said the essemce of the donation was to touch the lives of those in need, saying that the amount of money spent on the charity project was generated from contributions of individual members of the Forum.


He explained that some patients receiving treatment at the ABU Teaching Hospital have also benefited from the donations while fines for some inmates with civil cases were settled to allow them regain freedom.

Kalu urged the prison inmates to consider their stay in the facility as a trial from Almighty Allah.


Presenting donations to the Orphans Committee of Zaria LG at Haruna Danja Mosque, Kawu stated that they hoped to be counted among those that assist the orphans to reap the rewards therein.


Chairman of Zaria LG, Alhaji Yusuf Namadi and Assistant Comptroller of Prison, Zaria, Alhaji Muhammad Baguda both described the donations as a commendable gesture.
