Nigerian Postgraduate Student Emerges Overall Best At UN Student Conference In China

A Yobe Postgraduate student, who is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Environmental Science and Engineering at Hohai University Nanging, China, Muhammad Ibrahim Baba, has emerged the overall best student at the United Nations International Students Conference on Environment and Sustainability with his research paper being selected as ‘Excellent Paper of the Conference’.The conference took place between June 10 and 15, 2019 at Shanghai, China.

In a letter addressed to the spokesman to the Yobe State Government, Prof. Deqiang Chen, Baba’s supervisor, congratulated Nigeria and Yobe state for the student’s outstanding performance and worthy representation of his university, state and country.

Baba’s research paper was selected out of over six thousand submissions made for the conference.

Baba graduated with a first class degree from the Federal University Dutse before he went to China for his postgraduate degree.

The postgraduate student of Msc. Environmental Science and Engineering at Hohai University in China is among the twenty-five people from twenty-one countries across the world who were awarded at a colourful ceremony in Berlin, Germany.
