Oyo State Govt Approves N447.2m For Six Exercise Books Per Pupil

 

The Oyo State Executive Council has approved N447.2 million for the provision of six exercise books for each pupil and student in the state.

The state government also approved another N832.6 million for the procurement of one hundred units of vehicles for security agencies across the state.

Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, revealed this at the end of the council’s meeting in Ibadan on Tuesday.

He made it known that the council approved the distribution of exercise books for pupils and students in public primary and secondary schools, adding that the council approved the distribution of six books each for every pupil and students in pubilc schools.

According to Olatubosun, the distribution of exercise books to pupils and students reiterated the commitment of the state government to providing quality education.

The commissioner also disclosed that enrolment of pupils and students in public primary and Junior Secondary Schools stood at 252,644, while 211,157 students are in Senior Secondary Schools.
