The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike will tomorrow inaugurate the reconstructed Community Secondary School, Ubima that was once used as hideout for hoodlums and kidnappers.
Simeon Nwakaudu, Wike’s media aide, stated that the school, whose construction began eighteen months ago, was deserted by teachers and students due to its occupation by abductors who also turned the facility into a detention camp for hostages.
He added by saying that the project was executed after ex-Governor Celestine Omehia and other stakeholders sought the intervention of his boss.
“The Rivers State Governor respected them and took the right action. On February 3, 2018, Governor Wike flagged off the total reconstruction of the Community Secondary School, Ubima. He said the decision to reconstruct the school was aimed at taking education to the rural communities of Rivers State,” he stated.
