Rivers State University Student Killed By Cultists In Reprisal Attack As Gov. Wike Queries VC

An undergraduate student of the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, who is known as Montana Million, has been shot dead in what seems to be a reprisal attack which is coming few days after a final year student of the same institution was shot dead in a cultist attack.

According to the state Police Command, two students of the university, Elechi Chibuzor and Nnamdi Chibundu, has been arrested in connection with the killing of Prince Barisua, who was killed after writing his final year examination on Monday.

According to findings by schoolworld, Montana Million was allegedly killed yesterday by suspected members of a rival cult group while on his way to the campus.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the killers pumped several rounds of bullets into his body, which did not penetrate. Afterwards, they decided to attack him with machetes and eventually hacked him to death. The latest killing of Million has heightened tension of a looming cult war in the university.


Due to resurgenve of cult violence and other social manace in the university, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, had queried the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Blessing Dibia, to respond in writing with 24 hours to explain the cause of the violence.

DSP Nnamdi Omoni, Police spokesperson in the state, who confirmed the brutal killing of Million, stated that two persons arrested for the killing of Barasua are already helping the police in its investigation.
