The Federal Government Social Intervention Programme has sacked Local Government Coordinator and ten cooks for the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme over alleged fraudulent activities in Jigawa State.
Jigawa state Focal Person of the programme, Bala Usman Chamo, revealed this while briefing pressmen at the official flag-off of the distribution of stainless plates and spoons for the school feeding programme.
He expressed sadness over the attitudes of some LG focal persons and cooks for sabotaging the FG’s efforts through diversion of the funds for their personal use.
Chamo explained that after the implementation of the National Home Grown School Feeding Program in the state within the last four years, the number of pupil enrollments has increased by thirty-five per cent in Jigawa state.
According to him, Jigawa state government spends 65,205,100 monthly to compliment the Federal Government’s efforts.
“Jigawa state government decided to compliment the FG’s feeding programme of class 1 t0 3 pupils through monthly contribution of over 65 million to feed the remaining pupils of class 4 to 6,” he stated.
