Sixty-One High School Students To Compete For ‘Best Speller’ Title

Sixty-one Nigerian High School students are to meet in Akwa-Ibom State to compete for the title of the best ‘Speller’ in the contry at the National Grand Finale of Nigeria Spelling Bee.

The spellers were able to prove their spelling prowess from the various states and regional level competitions, which was held across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

The Grand Finale, which is scheduled to hold on the 27th of July, 2019, will be held at the International Conference Hall of Ritman University Ikot-Ekpene, Akwa-Ibom State.


According to findings made by schoolworld, six national champions will win an all-expenes-paid trip to represent the country at the African Spelling Bee Competition in Uganda later this year.

The National Senior Champion of the competetion stands to win a N1 million scholarship to any Nigerian University while the Junior Champion will cart away the sum of N100,00. Consolation prizes will be won by the 2nd and 3rd place winners in both categories.
