Faruq Gbolahan Yusuf, who hails from Ogbomoso in Oyo State, couldn’t fulfil his tertiary education dream despite having 50% scholarship from a United State University.
Yusuf, who was born in Lagos on April 5, 2003, has always been an academic genius, which left him graduating as the overall best student in his secondary school.
He came out with outstanding grades in his West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and scored 321 in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The charming young boy is TOFEL certified with good examination grades which earned him a 50% scholarship to the University of Kansas in the United States but didn’t see the light of the day due to lack of funds.
The young man’s enthusiasm for knowledge stirred his desire to self-teach himself some computer programming languages like Java, Phython, CSS among others with the internet as his resource place.
Despite the disappointment he faces, Yusuf is a trained photographer and has a dedicated page on Instagram where he showcases his works hoping to make enough money to continue his education either here in Nigeria or the US.
