Sule Lamido University Female Undergraduates Win Prof. Audi’s Prize

Eleven female undergraduate students of Sule Lamido University (SLU), Jigawa State have won the Prof. Jummai Adama M. Audi’s prize for the ‘Best Female Final Year Students’.

The female students who were drawn from fifteen programmes offered in three Faculties of the institution, were given N50,000 each at a ceremony which was recently held at the university’s campus.

The Chairman, Committee on Prizes and Awards and who is also the university’s Librarian, Dr. Abdulkadir Ahmed Idris, revealed that the prize was meant to encourage female undergraduates to excel in their pursuit of academic excellence.

He added by saying that the award was aimed at assisting students in writing their final year project.


In his address, the Vice Chancellor SLU, Prof. Lawan Sani Taura, emphasised that women, as mothers, are so important in human life and development and must be given special attention.


The VC, who was represented by the Deputy VC of the institution, Dr. Umar Saje, congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to spend the money for the purpose it was meant.


Prof. Jummai Audi is an external member of SLU Governing Council from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) and who is currently serving with the National Law Reform Commission.
