UNICAL Medical Student Arrested For Cultism

A 400L Medical Student of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Ikezue Kingsley Nnadi, has been arrested by the Security men of the institution over his involvement in cultism.

Nnadi who was in the Faculty of Medicine was also arrested over illegal possession of firearms.


Jarlath Abang, Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the university who paraded the suspect said he was arrested at the students’ hostel, Moore Road by men of the security unit who were on routine surveilance of hostels.


According to the CSO, the security unit had already received intelligence reports about his evil activities in the hostel, and it swung into action and arrested him at the unholy hours of the morning.


“Ikezue who is suspected to be a cult leader had forcefully occupied the Hall Chairman’s room at the hostel and refused to vacate despite several appeals from the security unit,” the CSO stated.


The CSO who described the arrest as another major breakthrough in his resolve to stamp out cultism from the institution said, “It is in tandem with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Zana Akpagu’s zero-tolerance policy on cultism.


Items recovered from the suspect included a locally made pistol, cartridges, charms, hard drugs, Indiam Hemp, Aye Confraternity flag and various identity cards.
