The management of the Kwara State Polytechnic (KWARAPOLY), Ilorin, has made it nown that, contrary to information being peddled online, the institution did not advertise its post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) registration for the 2019/2020 academic admission.
The institution has warned unsuspecting members of the public to be beware of the activities of online scammers, who defraud admission seekers through fraudulent websites.
Mallam Yunus Abdulqadri, Public Relations Officer of the polytechnic, told newsmen that the institution had only one website, which is www.kwarastatepolytechnic.edu.ng.
He made it known that the institution did not authorise any private online website to handle its post UTME registration.
According to reports, two concerned parents, Babatunde Aremu and Alhaji Abdul Malik Ita, had reported that an operator of a website carrying the logo and address of KWARAPOLY, demanded a total sum of N4,000 for registration fees from admission seeking candidates.
One of the concerned parents made it known that the implication of unauthorised websites defrauding candidates was further made serious by historical incidents relating to the polytechnic.
