The Ekiti State Government has demanded for the full accreditation of the Ekiti State University College of Medicine to allow students admitted in the college ten years ago to graduate.

The Executive Governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi disclosed this while hosting members of Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) who were in Ekiti to inspect facilities at the College as part of its final accreditation processes.

Fayemi expressed optimism that with the efforts of his administration and the university towards ensuring improved facilities, the medical college would get the final approval of the council and would be able to graduate its first set of medical doctors.

“This is a something that is long overdue, as you can see that ten years is a long time for these students to have been in school waiting to have this over with,” Fayemi stated.
