The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, has disclosed that the scheme will not pay any ransom for the release of any abducted corps member.
The DG urged corps members to be security conscious and be mindful of their movements, adding that the corpers should cultivate the habit of going to bed as early as 6pm.
Ibrahim said these on Sunday when he made an unannounced visit to the NYSC orientation camp, making it the second visit following the death of three corpers who died in a road accident.
“The NYSC will never pay ransome if any corps member is kidnapped. Corps members are therefore advised to secure themselves as much as possible to avoid being kidnapped. Always obtain permission before travelling out of the area,” the DG stated..
